When It Rains It Pours

I read a lot of blogs before I sleep and Chinnie Hidalgo's blog is one of those fancy.
She was my Religion teacher in HS and she has always been one of the cool teachers back in the day.

Here is one of her doodles and quotes :)

This is my reminder to myself as the days to by.
Nothing is really easy, it's really just how you handle the lemons thrown at you, right?
Agree :)

Little Ones

They have officially taken over our Christmas Party!

HO HO HO

We were lucky to been able to get piso fare tickets a long time ago, so we were able to go to HK for a short vacation before December gets busy.  We stayed in TST for 2 days and spent the last day at HK Disney. It has been always nice to visit Hongkong with the Christmas decors everywhere.  The weather was also quite cold already.

The little man had his big eyes switched on while people watching the crowded streets.

We also did touristy stuff like go to Heritage then take the Star Ferry which is always a lot of fun.
We also watched the Festival of Lights....best cheap thrill when in HK.

We didn't go shopping, but instead tried new restaurants with good food.

Roast Goose at Yung Kee

All time favorite Spring Deer.

It was also our first time to go to Disney as a complete family.
The last time that we did it was probably 20 years ago when Marielle was four.

Gavin rode the Slinky and did not get scared.

We saw Mickey!

And we actually met Mickey!

It was one of our best trips ever, nobody was in a rush, no shopping and everyone had a great time.

I love you forever sweetie pie!
Balik tayo pag malaki ka na :)

Sweet December

Hello again December!
It has always been a bittersweet month, but I choose to celebrate and be joyful!

Our training has always been bigger and better every year :)
How fabulous are the costume of our girls?

Surprise visits from family from a far :)

Plus we are back at Kindermusik again...how time flies?
So many blessings to be thankful for.

Toys for The Small Boys

What is it with boys and cars?

They seem not to get tired of it.

Weekend in Tagaytay

We had a chance to go in a Tagaytay getaway last October at Hotel Kimberley.

It was a pleasant surprise to know that it was a kid friendly place with a lot of fun activities for children.

They had a petting zoo, a big open area field where the kids can run, wherein the animals roman freely too.  Their playground was also big and they had soccer amenities for kids too.
The pool was also a welcome respite amidst the green surroundings.

I had a great time and I'm sure Gavin did too :)

Hope we can come back when he is a little bit older so that he can interact more with the animals.
I am not an animal person, hence, I'm so thankful to my sister who played with Gavin and the animals. Haha! The rabbits were a bit scary even if they looked cute and fluffy.

Santa

As they say, it's the most wonderful time of the year!
32 days, almost a month before Christmas and we bumped into Santa at the mall today.

Every year, I really want to keep Christmas simpler with less fuss, less gifts, less shopping.
I just want to have quiant get togethers with friends before the big family celebrations kicks in.
Let's see if I can make that happen this year.

As with the little man in my arms...Christmas has always even about him.
From the time we were eagerly awaiting him when he was inside my tummy and to last year's first Christmas celebration together, Christmas will always be for Gavin :)

Favorite Toy

Everytime we go to a toy store, Gavin always picks up the same toy all time.
He is mesmerized with this animal house w music from Leap Frog that he always gets it and finds it inside the big toy store.

I was laughing when I found him running at Toys R Us with this.

Patay....na discover ang shopping.
We had to drag him out crying from the shop because he still wanted to play.

Boo!

Halloween came early as we were given tickets to Power Plant Mall's trick or treat at the Rockwell tent.
They gave a complimentary body bag, flip picture books, masks, and tons of candies.
You have to finish the task at the game booth before you can get candies from the giant pots.
Here is Gavini Bambini as a pack of French Fries.

Isn't he adorable?
He hated the fries that went to his face, hahahaha!
Pasensya na anak.  Please don't get mad at me when you grow up :D

On the actual Halloween Trick or treat in our village, it started really early and it was so hot.
He went out wearing his Ginebra jersey which was my original costume for him supposedly.
Gavin really LOVES playing basketball, hence the outfit,

However, his real costume is tan-at-ra-raaaan.....may the force be with you!

Ang init guys! Kawawa naman ang anak ko sa araw.

Here we are with he swarm of kiddos.

Napagod na, so we rode the bike.

Here we are at our neighbor's haunted house...boo!!! Hindi siya takot sa scary decor.

Please remember how much effort mommy made for you to have fun today.
I don't care if you don't remember this when you get older, but I will always remember how much fun today was.  Plus you had more fun when you saw the playground that was full of kalawang :)
It made your day....so it made mine too!

Easy-Palit with #HuggiesPantsUp

We first came across Huggies during my baby shower and one of our good friends gave us loads of newborn Huggies diapers.  It was one of the most useful and appreciated gifts then. We were able to use it right away as I gave birth after 4 days.  Since Gavin was a preemie, it fit perfectly after a few days. It was also very good for sensitive bums.

We were able to jump from the newborn size to small to medium and now to large as the little man is now a toddler.  However, as we went through crawling, cruising and now as an avid walker, putting on a diaper is a challenging task.  My son would always try to wiggle his legs and not stay put, wanting to always move around.  Ang gulo talaga!  One of our most trying diaper experience was changing nappies on a long haul 15 hour flight to London.  He pooped 2x and filled his diaper with a lot of pee too.  Any mom of an active boy can imagine how hard it is to change diapers in a very small airplane toilet...it is not for the faint hearted :)

After that incident, I tried to use Huggies Dry Pants.  It is like a brief or pants wherein you just shoot it in your son's legs and, tadaaaah, just pull it up and you are done changing nappies.  You don't have to keep him still for a few minutes because you have to fix the stickers on the sides.  Wih the Dry Pants of Huggies, you say goodbye to doing that.  You save on time and energy :)
Easy Palit talaga!

The price of Huggies Dry Pants is also very competitive.  It is below Php10 and it's very much worth it because it makes your life a lot easier and it makes your baby happier.

As they say, happy baby is equal to a happy mommy!!!

Mind Museum

With nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon, I found a Dealgrocer coupon for Mind Museum.
Got two coupons for me and yaya.  I thought Gavin will be free because he was just one year old, but apparently, once your kid reaches two feet, he needs to pay the usual entrance fee.

Okay lang, worth it naman.  We had fun...I don't know who had more fun, the yaya or Gavin :)

Gavin had a great time seeing lots of colors, touching different surfaces, seeing different movements and most of all, seeing different children walking around.

The Mind Museum is really for more grown kids who can do the experiments themselves or read the interesting factoids, but for a small toddler, it was also a very good sensory exercise.

I really hope Manila will have more kiddie educational museums!

Life is like a room full of chocolates *

Weekend Fun in the Sun

Several weeks ago, we spent a lazy Saturday morning with the Russell's to swim on their village pool.
The kiddos had a lot of props in the pool, complete with a floating sofa, haha.
How I wish I had these things before when I was small :)

*********************************************************************************************************

On a sunny long weekend holiday in August, we went on a staycation at a local hotel.
Before having a child, I didn't realize that they had a pretty cool kiddie water area, complete with a slide free floor, water fountains and a playground on top of the water play area. How cool is that?

Gavin had fun...nagka-pneumonia lang nga after a week ...but I'll reserve that in another post.
