Summer Is Here

Summer is officially here, ang init init na talaga.
We spent last weekend outdoors since it was so hot to be stuck at home.

We rode the swing together and it brought back memories of me and my dad riding a swing too at Luneta a long long time ago.

Lunch at Salcedo Market over barbecue, puto bumbong and pizza.

We spent the afternoon together shopping and trying out Gymboree for free play.
Gavin had loads of fun (separate post on Gymboree soon).  We went to ATC after, being mallrats that we are.  Sometimes I wonder if the yaya can keep up to our weekend itinerary, walang kapaguran from sun up to sun down.

The following day, I woke up and saw this.
Who then broke into the biggest smile :)

Haaaay, you really crack me up Gavin!
What a beautiful way to start my morning.

Since it's the start of summer, I am also happy to report that the little man did not cry his lungs out when dipped in the water.  We actually had fun and I think someone loved learning to splash the water with his bare hands at last.

Happy Summer Guys!
Keep cool!!!

11 months

Gavin took his first four steps alone a few days after his 11th month birthday :)

We celebrated with a cupcake for breakfast!
This is our bagong gising photo ops look :)

Hurray from Ninang!

Walking session with Ate Analyn.

Eating time with Ate Nimia.

It's a stripes matchy day :)

Lolo took Gavin with him to the office on that day
And transformed the office to a nursery, haha!

Date with Lolo

And then we capped off his birthday by going to SM Aura to buy baby supplies aka pang linis ng bote and panglaba, hehehe!

He had fun playing with other kids...kahit hindi naman siya pinapansin ng big kids.  Feeling big boy na kasi!

Hope you had fun little guy :)

Avent Tempo

I was interested in using disposable bottles since we are about to travel out of the country without a yaya.  I am not excited to wash and sterilize my medela bottles and avent bottles by myself.  That's about 8-9 Avent bottles in a day and about 14-16 medela bottles for my pump.  Nakakaloka yun guys!
I don't plan to waste two hours of vacation time, haha.

Good thing that I recently found Avent Tempo disposable liners in SM.
They only sell the liners regularly now for 4oz and 8oz but the actual bottle holder of Avent has been discontinued.  I was able to buy 2pcs online at Amazon, bit I found out they have 14pcs of the bottles remaining at SM Harrison Plaza.  The disposable liners are available at SM, Baby & Co etc. on sale at 50% off for the 4oz php350 for 50pcs.

Recently, I found myself trying out the bottles before we fly out.
Ang SAYA!  The plastic liner is not flimsy at all.
When the milk is decreased, the liner also becomes smaller so that your baby does not experienced colic with accumulated air inside.  I love it talaga :)
Less bottles to wash for the yaya.
We only change the nipples so less items to bring in the baby bag.

    *ubos na ang milk

If you have a newborn, if you exclusively pump a toddler or as long as the 4oz bottle works for you, try out the Avent Tempo bottle.  Buy the remaining ones at Harrison :)

March Blues

I was reading up on old posts and realized that this time last year, we were celebrating Holy Week. I remember the weather to being so hot that time that i ate halo halo and milkshake, sometimes both on the same day.

This time last year, I was still on strict bed rest, peeing in my bed pan, watching tv the whole day, playing candy crush it fight boredom and not leaving the confines of my room.

The baby inside my tummy was kicking and twirling and my agenda that week was to fatten him up to make sure he is big enough when I deliver.

My day would usually start w heparin shots, my concoction of different meds to drink, then I eat breakfast in bed.  I sleep after that then I wake up in time for Pls Be Careful With My Heart and lunch in bed after.  I have a doorbell ringer in my bedside to ask for help in eating, peeing, getting stuff beyond the bed etc.  I really don't miss eating while nakahilata. It was really so hard to cut the meat and put it inside your mouth when your head should be lower than your feet.  Yes, I had to lie in bed in the position w elevated legs 24 hours for months :#  I watch Ryzza in Eat Bulaga and Showtime then wait for Fashion Police in cable. It's a good day when the manicurista comes over to do my nails, otherwise, I sleep again after and wake up nearing dinner.

If my dad is home early, my parents eat with me in the room while we all watch tv.  Evenings are for heparin shots again and Internet.

The highlight of my week is the weekend when everyone is at home and there are more people to interact with while in bed.  I remember that during Black Saturday, my Father side relatives came over to visit over a yummy lunch and solid chikahan.  It was always a treat when I get visitors as it's really very lonely to be stuck in bed.  During Easter sunday, my mother side relatives dropped by before going to the beach. Ang Saya

No photos on this post because I barely have photos while pregnant.  I only had two maternity dresses and two maternity tops.  Since I was stuck lying down, there was no need to dress up at all, except when I go see my OB every week. Hence, no selfies, no photos.  I couldn't even have a decent haircut and I had to use the Kelly pad to wash my hair sometimes.

Last year around this time, God placed a pause button to my life.  Everything became slow.  Suddenly, life became simpler.  It made me appreciate the simple beauty of life.  Feeling the sun on my skin, seeing the blue sky,  walking on grass, the rain on my cheeks...all these became non existent for a few months.  What mattered was the heartbeat inside my tummy and nothing else.

I'm just nasesenti because looking back made me realize the huge difference that a year made.

Everything is different now, there is a magulong baby sleeping beside me :)
I barely have 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep now and watching tv has been a luxury.
My heart is bigger and braver because of him :)

Doctor Doctor Gavin's Sick

It was the first time that Gavin got sick in ten months time.
Lolo was the one who noticed that he felt hot and true enough, the little guy registered a temperature of more than 37C. He had a hard time coughing because he couldn't take out the phlegm from his throat.  He ended up taking antibiotics and ventolin for 7 days.  Kawawa naman :(

He had to take a quick bath inside the bathroom.  No bath tub swim outside the house muna.

I was scared because Gavin was born with pneumonia and I don't want him to have chest refractions gain that scared me.  Than goodness, after three days even if he had slight fever pa Rin, he went back to his magulo self.  It gave me a heart ache to see him having a hard time drinking ,milk and spitting out liquids and food. Napuno na ng vomit si Lola, yaya, the bed and me.

May sakit na nga, hawak pa ang favorite toy niya - the remote :)

He lost a bit of weight but was able to regain it back and some more after two weeks. Yay!

Happy China Man wih sipon on his nose.
Mr. Shoalin, please don't get sick again, okay?

Sorry no cupcake for you, the icing still gives you allergies.

Ps you learned how to hold your milk bottle using one hand this month and to cruise in your play pen
You also fell from the bed twice already, one care of yaya and one care of mommy ... Sorry!
